Muizz and Kush Maini Star in WSK Euro Series

Muizz Abdul Gafar (Malaysia) and Kush Maini (India) took part in the Mini 60 category at the WSK Euro Series event held last weekend in La Conca, Italy. Kush Maini crossed the line in 2nd place in the final but a 5 second penalty for on-track contact dropped him to 5th, and promoted Muizz from 3rd up to 2nd overall. The overall points from the pre-final and final put Muizz and Maini in 2nd and 3rd place respectively in the championship standings. Malaysian driver Nazim Azman also had a great performance in the Mini 60 category finishing 9th in the final.

Kush Maini Wins in WSK Masters

Indian driver Kush Maini (racing with an Italian license) triumphed in the 60 mini category at the opening round of the WSK Masters series in Italy. Maini took two firsts and a second place in his heats, which put him on pole for the pre-final, in which he dropped to third at the line, but he then fought back to the front in the final as he took the win less than 2 hundredths ahead of Eliseo Martinez.

Sasakorn Chaimongkol from Thailand was the best of the Asian drivers in the Junior category with a 5th place in the final, and a great points haul for the WSK Masters series. Kush’s brother, Arjun Maini also impressed as he competed in the Junior category, finishing in the points in 14th place. Another Indian driver, Macau Asia-Pacific champion from 2012 Jehan Daruvala had impressive results in the heats with a win, two 2nd place finishes, and an 8th, but a DNF in the final after a top five in the double-header pre-finals ended his weekend on a low.

Hiroki Inui battles to win Senior Max at Rotax Invitational Malaysia

The Rotax Invitational Malaysia was held over last weekend at the Sepang International Karting Circuit, with Japanese driver Hiroki Inui of Simon Racing staging an impressive win from 8th on the grid in the Senior category. Wesleigh Charles Orr (South Africa / Meritus.GP) dominated the weekend in the DD2 category, while Daim Hishammudin edged out Mitchell Cheah in Juniors after a hard-fought race. Muizzuddin Musyaffa controlled the MicroMax fixture with a clear win ahead of Arsh Johany and Muhammad Sidqi.

Karting is a great sport for photography, and many karters have their own camera gear that they put to use when not racing. Hopefully this article will help you get the best out of your equipment. While you can get great shots with almost any type of camera, I’m mainly going to cover DSLR camera techniques, but most tips can be used even with point-and-shoot cameras (especially if they have some manual control). AKOC 2013 Calendar Released

The provisional calendar for the 2013 Asian Karting Championship has been announced. The championship is set to be a 6 round affair starting in May. New for the series is a round at the Kartright circuit in Singapore. The events have been added to the KartingAsia calendar.

  1. May 18-19 – Carmona Race Track, Philippines
  2. June 15-16 – Kartrodomo de Coloane, Macau
  3. July 20-21 – Kartright Circuit, Singapore
  4. September 07-08 – Sentul Circuit, Indonesia
  5. October 12-13, 2013 – Kartodromo de Coloane, Macau
  6. November 23-24 – Bira Kart Track, Thailand
