Rotax has announced their chassis partners for the 2010 Grand Finals. A welcome change sees 2 non-CRG karts on the grid with Sodi Kart supplying the kart for Juniors, and Haase supplying the kart for the new DD2 Masters event. Below is the full list, click on the link for more information on the specific kart on the manufacturers’ websites.
Junior: Sodi ST30
Senior: CRG Black Star 30/32

The KRS Motorsports racing team made their way to Surabaya, Indonesia for the 2nd round of the Rotax Asia Zone Challenge. KRS driver Afiq Ikhwan took 2nd in the Senior Max pre-final and went one better in the final to take a commanding victory ahead of Japanese driver Sena Fujita.

Round 1 of the Rotax Euro Challenge for 2010 returned to the popular “drivers’” circuit of Sologne Karting, Salbris, France last weekend where the weather played a very significant role in the results, but failed to affect the spirit of the highly competitive racing.
At almost 1.5km in length, the rather technical track that’s been a selected venue for the series on a handful of occasions now played host once again for 180 competitors coming from five continents of the globe including several new nations being represented in 31.

The first round of the Rotax Asia Challenge and Rotax Malaysia Challenge events were held last weekend at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia. Despite the track being used for the series in previous years it was new for everyone – because it is now raced anticlockwise. Some drivers realized that the off-season break and change of direction put their neck muscles to the test, and the scorching weather all weekend added to the physical challenge!

The first of it’s kind and with intentions of becoming an annual event, the Redwhite Sangari Kart Prix is a one-make Rotax engines event featuring 3 categories (Junior, MicroMax, Senior) and substantial prize money ($4,000 USD for 1st). The event will be held at the Sepang International Karting Circuit in Malaysia on the 22nd of November. Entries close early in November so get a move on!

Intrepid Force Rotax team driver Josh Hart has finished with a well-earned second place on the podium at round 2 of the Rotax Euro Challenge at Kart Planet circuit, Busca, Italy after some extremely close competition this weekend saw the New Zealander secure his best result yet for the 2009 season.

There have been a few final changes to the Rotax Asia Challenge and Rotax Malaysia Challenge racing calendars for 2009. The organisers have assured competitors that these changes will remain as the final dates.
The next event will see the championship returning to the Sepang circuit, and after that an Asia/Malaysia double header will be held at a new track in Pekan, (Pahang, Malaysia). Total entries this year for the Malaysia Challenge have been at their highest since the series started in 2000, and the momentum looks set to carry on for the rest of the year.

Rotax has announced the chassis’ that will be used for the 2009 Grand Finals in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

The opening round of the Rotax Asia Challenge was held last weekend in conjunction with the second round of the Rotax Malaysia Challenge in variable weather conditions with racing action in the dry, damp, and wet conditions.
