New to Philippines - want to get back to Kart racing - help!

Postby stevensan » Mon Oct 05, 2009 11:37 am

Hi guys!

I have just moved to Philippines having spent 5 years in China. In china I raced on and off in a local karting championship. I rented the kart off the circuit to take part in this, so never owned the kart.

Is it possible to do something similar in Philippines, or are there teams I can join. If not I am happy to buy a basic 2nd hand kart - I'm really in this for the fun rather than the winning!

I have read the forum and it seems the best place to go to get into the scene is Carmona circuit - great as I live in Binan! When should I go here - I can't seem to find many events listed on the net.

Hoping to meet some of you guys in the near future!

hello stevensan,
welcome
you are in a great place, Binan Laguna. you need to get yourself upto carmona, 20 min up the south luzon expressway. then head out towards Dasmarinas, when you get to the top of the hill you will see a Shell peterol station. take the left turn jut before the gas station (you can drive through the gas station if you miss it) then left turn again imediately. follow the road 100 meters and you will see the track.
there isnt a heavy race schedual, but track open everyday for practice! yipee!!
what i did was to take my family down one saturday on the way to the mall, got talking to some guys and found all the information i needed . everyone is very friendly and will give advice freely. lots of teams to join if you wish (although take care), but not really anything to hire. always some karts for sale, just ask all the guys someone will know someone (again be carefull).
there is also a new "rental" type racetrack just opend a few months back at Sants Rosa, close to SM Mall you will have to stop and ask (or serch on the internet i dont know it).
im in the uk at the moment but will be traveling back in a few weeks. i live in Tagaytay, so again not so very far.
if you like to meet-up or anything, drop me a PM.
regards
phil.
