Clash of Races

Postby Gary80 » Tue Aug 11, 2009 8:13 am

I just wanted someone to confirm if it is true that this weekend there are 3 championships rounds on at the same time.

1. Rotax Malaysia Max and Asia Max
2. Yamaha Championship
3. AKOC

If this is true I dont understand the logic behind it as it deprives a driver of the opportunity of competing in more then one complete series.

As mosts of the above series have only 5 rounds which makes a total of only 15 weekends in the year out of a total of 52 weekends available, it seems not too difficult a job to programme races to avoid these clashes.

I hope this can be prevented for next year as I personally would like to be able to compete in every round of more then just one championship.

Well Gary, sorry for this. All my races are inscribed in October/November 2008 for 2009. I have circulated all my dates to organisers and drivers in this region. Therefore to have races clashing is beyond my control. The other organisers should take heed to inscribe their races not to clash with others.

I will be working on the dates for 2010 and it will be inscribed by October this year with CIK and will be informed to all by November. Keep your date with us as we are not likely to change and even if we do we will give you ample notice.

Gary,

there's no Yamaha race this weekend in Malaysia. The next round of the SL Cup is in October

Okej....

I propose organisators should talk more to each other...
ofcourse i understand.. you want to stap each other in the back.. to try to have as big as possible starting fields...
BUT you should realy talk with each other in this... Cause, this are 3 totally different competition with ALSO, different types of KArts/engines....

so poeple now only use or buy 1 type... iff 3 compeitition organise together, like first rotax... after than AKOC, after that SLcup.. or the other way around (doesn't mather)...
People can, have the time between competitions in, to change there engine.. or even buy a second chassis... so they can drive competition all year trought...
SO again, more karters... so the sport can grow more...

Ciao, Kristof
