Plus Merdeka enduro

Postby JohnKing6 » Sun Aug 02, 2009 9:24 am

Considering the rush for everyone to get ready after Pekan, the turnout for the Plus Merdeka challenge was pretty good - 12 Yamaha's for the sprint and 10 Rotax's for the enduro.

The day was always going to be a bit messy because of the hectic schedule during the Plus Motorsport carnival so apologies to everyone for this and fact we had to reduce the Enduro to 1 hr 20 mins. But, the racing was good and the impression I got was that everyone enjoyed it - the Yamaha guys had a good time racing on a different track and the Rotax drivers enjoyed an enduro format - some for the 1st time.

Congratulations to everyone for the great atmosphere and driving standards - no incidents, complaints about other drivers or worries about rule bending.

We learnt a lot about organising this type of event and will apply those lessons next time - we're aiming to do something similar before the end of the year, but this time with a full day's schedule.

The winners were:

Yamaha - Nabil
Rotax Senior - Ijaz / Steven Cheah
Junior - Timothy / Daniel Woodroffe
