Mini Endurance 1st August at Elite

Postby JohnKing6 » Mon Jun 08, 2009 5:16 pm

Plus and Elite have asked me to help set up a mini endurance race on the afternoon of 1st august (saturday) at Elite Speedway as part of the Plus Merdeka day celebrations. What does everyone think about this format (basically we'll have 3 hours of track time to fill):

Karts: 1 kart per team, Standard Rotax's, junior or senior mixed on the grid
Drivers: 2 drivers per team. Drivers of junior karts must average 65kg minimum, senior karts 75kg average. Drivers of junior karts must be 12+, of senior karts 15+. (but older drivers can drive juniors!). It will be a national club race sanctioned by MAM or AAM so licenced or unlicenced drivers can take part
Tyres: Mojos. No tyre marking so teams can use as many sets as they want - new or used.
Entry fee: RM400 per team, including transponder
Prize money will be sponsored by Plus (details TBA)
30 mins practice/qualifying
2 hour race
Each driver must do minimum of 45 mins

Comments on regs/format welcome but please let me know if you're interested in taking part.

John, its a good idea and KRS will support this event. We will supply the Mojos with a special discount. All the Mojos for the endurance will be marked by us before delivery. We will also be available at the track with a service van for parts sales and service. As usual we will give out vouchers to the winners. Just let us know what you need.

OK great - thanks James. We'll chat about it sometime. I don't want to make new tyres compulsory - we've all got plenty of half used sets which will probably last half a race anyway but I'm sure some ppl will want new tyres. This is mainly for fun and to get a few extra people involved although of course any regular drivers that enter will be favourites :-)

What I really want to some of the hobby karters and myKart guys to enter - a lot of them have got Rotaxs - and get a comparison on how they are compared to the regulars. Maybe it will encourage people to join RMC sometime....
