After all the April Fools joke lets get down to serious business although I laugh my head off when Geoff texted me to confirm when MS was coming to the track!

Entries now stand at 86 with Micromax at 20, Junior 24, Senior 21, Masters 13 and DD2 8. There is current discussion of running a special race for Micromax only in Singapore before the F1 as a showcase of grassroot karting. Hopefully this can materialised. There has been discussion on getting the Micromax run in the GF also but due to problems with licencing this may take some time to get it off the ground. GF 2009 maybe the playground for the first Micromax event yet. Will keep you all informed.

Round 2 of the AMC is confirmed on 9/10 May and will be at Sentul circuit, Indonesia. Please send in your entries now as the first 60 entries with payment of the entry fees will be entitled to the free room. Other late entries will have to pay for your own accomodations.

Round 3 of the AMC is now confirmed on 25/26 July and will be at the new part road part purpose built circuit at Pekan, Pahang. Again accomodation is provided BUT first 60 paid up entries will be entitled to the rooms. You can send in your entries for that event now also. The AMC 3 will run in conjunction with RMC 4 (Malaysian series).

Those who are going to Indonesia can start booking your air tickets and make arrangements with Mr Chan at KRS on the shipment of karts. We will be shipping out the container around 22 April after the Yamaha SL cup. This is to help out those who may need their chassis for that race.

Actually he chickened out when he heard that I'll have my new GP DD2 running for this round :-)

But seriously, the entry list is great news - we'll even have a proper DD2 race - I might have to work hard for a podium place :-) :-) :-)

Mikko,

Thanks for result......saw the latest Senior's result. Sad but I guess everyone will learn from it - at least I hope.

Also can someone post some info on the Junior drivers that were taken to the medical centre. Speedy recovery to all involved.

Yes, I had the unfortunate incident of going off too there in the RM1 last year....in the rain! Scary..this I can say and hence I know it can hurt! Maybe a review of rain during race needed to ensure safety esp for Elite - IMHO.

Safe karting to all.

David Coulthard definitely made a guest appearance in Masters - he obviously missed crashing into people every few corners :-)

But, there was some great racing. The MicroMax's were superb, it was good to see Nabil being challenged in the Juniors, the seniors was tight all the way down the field and we actually had some racing in DD2. The masters final was unique in Malaysia - slippery at the start, a period where it looked like getting dry then progressively wetter until the heavens finally did open

Lets hope the good racing continues for the rest of the year and everyone learns from mistakes made this weekend, including the Sennas and Coulthard :-).

It's great to see so many drivers in MicroMax - I think that we'll see the level of driving going up really quick because of the increased competition.

It was great to have a bit of wet racing. :D

Btw RocK (and everyone else as well that may not be aware) the Black Dog guys have been doing a great job getting coverage - look out for engine block on star sports/espn to catch some highlights of the race. It's never guaranteed that they will use the footage but the report was that they really liked the material from the first round so hopefully they'll keep showing them.

I added some more stickers for Sunday ;) :

There was a lot of (let's be kind) "over ambitious driving" so a lot of contact in senior, masters and (a bit) in junior. Afiq was penalised for one incident.

But, lets not go on about the negative part, there was really great racing and a huge turnout so we should be celebrating.

Yes, all in all it was a nail bitter for most drivers ( even the Mikko/Afiq last lap unfortunate tussle at the downhill hairpin ) and very entertaining for the spectators too! ( dangerous cos you start wishing you were in the thick of the action! )
