Mikko/James,

a couple of questions for clarification:

1) The regs for Senior chassis says "Chassis must be CIK homologated or sanctioned by the authorised Rotax Distributor". Presumably we're talking about CIK 2009 Homologated so what's the process for building up the list of sanctioned chassis?
2) The engine regs for Senior talk about the engine ID cards. Are we implementing these again? If so, what's the process?
3) On seniors, front brakes are allowed only if CIK Homologated. Again, presumably this is CIK 2009. Correct?
4) The regs for overall Rotax and Malaysia are slightly different about coolants. Most hot countries allow water based coolants e.g. Redline Water Wetter (advert coming - available from John King Karting :-). Can we clarify this please.
5) The regs for cadet karts specify a maximum axle diamter of 30mm. Why is this? Many manufacturers are now changing to 40mm axles.
6) The new date for KB clashes with the published date of Round 1 of the SL Cup, is someone going to sort this out?

I'll answer a few....

1) The regs for Senior chassis says "Chassis must be CIK homologated or sanctioned by the authorised Rotax Distributor". Presumably we're talking about CIK 2009 Homologated so what's the process for building up the list of sanctioned chassis?

The homologations run for 6 years with new homologation periods every 3 years - so 2009 karts are valid until 2014... 2006 homologated karts are valid until 2011.

And otherwise I think a chassis is "sanctioned" if it passes scrutineering. For drivers with non homologated or out of homologation karts i think it's best to check directly before the event.

2) The engine regs for Senior talk about the engine ID cards. Are we implementing these again? If so, what's the process?

Have been scrapped I believe - should be removed thanks for pointing that out.

3) On seniors, front brakes are allowed only if CIK Homologated. Again, presumably this is CIK 2009. Correct?

See Q1.

4) The regs for overall Rotax and Malaysia are slightly different about coolants. Most hot countries allow water based coolants e.g. Redline Water Wetter (advert coming - available from John King Karting :-). Can we clarify this please.

"Surfacants may be added" should be added imo.

5) The regs for cadet karts specify a maximum axle diamter of 30mm. Why is this? Many manufacturers are now changing to 40mm axles.

Might have to be checked.[/quote]

6) The new date for KB clashes with the published date of Round 1 of the SL Cup, is someone going to sort this out?

I think the KB date is very inflexible because it relies on the Sultan, so hopefully Yamaha can change theirs if they can...
btw where have you found the Yamaha SL dates I haven't seen them anywhere? Send 'em over.

John -

Mikko has answered most of your questions. However, I would like to point out the following -

1. The ID Card has been scrapped BUT the engine card has not. We have so far not really implemented the rule of the engine card as long as the engines are sealed before by the distributor. The engine card will be asked for if you decide to take part in the Euro max as they would want to see who has sealed the engine.

2. As to Cadet karts, I have not really seen one with 40mm axle. All present Cadet homologation is still at 30mm. This rule will change once I have been advised by CIK. I will be having a meeting with them in mid-Feb in Geneva and I will check on this.

3. As to the date of the Yamaha SL cup clashing with us, it must be remembered that whoever send in their inscription first keeps that date. Our change of dates was sent to AAM/CIK almost immediately when we knew about it. The Yamaha SL Cup comes under MAM and not AAM directly. So this could be the reason why it clashed. In any case, the RMC/AMC date in KB cannot be changed as Tuanku has already agreed to it.

Entries have been coming (check here), not that many yet but I'd expect most entries to be sent in on the last possible day ;)

Calling all rotax owners. Please try to make it for the RMC round one. It will be an interesting race as I have been informed there will be 15 Singapore drivers coming with 4 of them being Micromax. I have guaranteed a seat in the GF for Singapore. If I can get the same number of entries from Brunei, there will be a seat for them also.

For 2009, KRS Motorsports will be rewarding the winners of each round and each class with a gift voucher. This voucher can be used to purchase any parts from KRS. Unfortunately, the voucher cannot be exchanged for cash and has to be utilized within 6 months of receipt. This voucher is a simple way of saying thank you for participating in our race. I value all the entries from you guys. Keep up with your support.

Great weekend of racing. Just a bit of qualifying was run under wet conditions and then on Sunday all we had was hot, sunny, hot weather!

The masters grid is now at a proper level with a decent amount of drivers fighting it out, as is the MicroMax!

Download the full results (heats and finals).

:P Great to see more drivers in Master.
Hope there'll be such a no. of Master drivers in AMC.
Mikko, any info about the circuit of AMC rd.1?
Is the Grand riverview hotel nearby?
Anything near the hotel? (cause it's easter holiday in HK, my family wanna come, but they wanna make sure they'll have something to do in Kota Bharu)
We've just confirm that we'll have 6 drivers for rd. 1. (2 in DD2, 2 in Junior, 1 in Master, 1 in Veteran(if there is  )or Master)

Round 1 AMC is now at Elite in KL, on same day. James is sorting out hotels for you guys. So, much better for your family :-) There's no veteran class anymore - James scrapped it when I started to win masters as well :-).

If if would make it cheaper for you guys, I've got a couple of last years Intrepid's with good engines I could rent out for the Masters.

Hi, Guys, I am surprised that you have not received the information that the AMC 1 will be held at Elite track in Subang Jaya instead of Kota Bharu. HKKC was sent the notice on this as well as Alex Mui. However, if you can give me your email address, I will put you on the mailing list.

The revised Bulletin will be out soon.

It's fine for us anyway, I've just help Alex to send the entry form to Chan last Friday.

OK now, is Subang Jaya in KL or near KL (how far? possible to stay in KL?)
Which hotel will AMC assign for the drivers?
