I really, really liked the last one i raced, but that was over 5 years ago! The front end was very responsive and any changes were very easy to feel.

There aren't any new Arrow Karts in Malaysia, Hong Kong did have a few though. Where are you from?

Oh and welcome to the forums and to karting ;).

Perhaps I can update on the Singapore side ...

We are assembling a few Arrow X1-CIKs in Singapore which came in earlier this week and we can give our views in a week or two plus ask around with others who bought theirs.

Singapore has a few AX9 users but I dont know how many are on this board.

There is also a review of the previous AX9 model in Kart Sport magazine where its reviewed together with a Birel, CRG, Tonykart, Intrepid and First Kart. Link is below.

Yeah, we've got lots of Arrows in HK. Our whole team were using Arrow last year (For HK races and AKOC races).
Like Mikko said, the front end was very responsive (it's really easy to handle) and any changes were very easy to feel (but not a lot of setup U can do with the chassis).
On a track like the one in HK (lots of slow corners), it's even performs better than Tonykart and Birel (What I feel).
But when i raced it with a KF2 engine (@ AKOC races, sometimes with Tonykart front brake mounted <Cause they don't have one>), I don't think it's good enough.
I personally think that the chassis is too hard, cause we can always do better lap times with an 2 yrs old chassis than a brand new one.

Th Arrow X1-CIK certainly has a front brake option available. This chassis is a pretty handy weapon for senior rotax and KF2 / KF1. Its quite a bit softer than the old BMax and AX9 30/32 chassis and rides the bumps pretty well. Front end adjustability is good, ride height adjustability and rear grip levels can also be easily dialled in. Works well on D2's through to open tyres from what we've seen.

The Arrow chassis of choice for Junior Max, KF3 and the Yamaha SEC junior classes is definitely the XE28 with its softer 28mm chassis. Dials in beautifully and perhaps is even a fraction easier to setup than the Intrepid Cruiser. Looks to be a little bit quicker over the first two laps without falling apart over the longer distances. Rims of choice appear to be Douglas or Edwards (both in low volume pattern) magnesium rims, aluminium hangers and hubs.

I know in the past that there was some rumours circulating around metalurgy of the frames not being quite what they should, but these latest chassis all bear the hallmarks of USA manufactured chrom-moly tube from the actual sizings and look to be the business.

Just a quick update, X1-CIK is the one for rubbered up grippy tracks for Jnr Max (particularly heavier drivers) through to Snr Max and Snr Yamaha. The X1-CIK appears to be pretty much line ball with the Intrepid Cruiser and new CRG frames in terms of ride over bumps and tracking through a turn. I've heard that the new Birel is also "very nice" but am yet to see one.

The Arrow XE28 is very quick on green low grip tracks, on medium grip tyres and/or with lighter drivers / racing weights - so I'd respectfully suggest that for Jnr Yamaha it may well be the weapon of choice in Malaysia - with a 40mm axle. Any bigger axle and it will sit too flat at the rear and understeer.

How much is the X1-CIK chassis (excluding engine) selling for in Singapore?
X1- 28 and X1-30, will they be imported here as well?
