Kong,

for fun karting or what? for fun - there's one just before Dreamland.....ie. south of Brissie. Otherwise, there's another one northward, very close to the late Steve Irwin Australian Zoo. ( Glass Mountain area )

just as a pre-warning, fun karts in australia are normally 4 stroke, slow and they are very strict with driving discipline. ( and not cheap either if u compare with here )

for serious karting, try ipswich kart club and gold coast kart club....google for details and location. No fun kart for hire.

have fun.

Ipswich is the most demanding track in the area, but don't have any karts available for hire for the day as far as I'm aware.
Their web page is here http://www.ipswichkartclub.com.au/

Kignston Park Raceway has one of the best hire kart setups Ive come across - all the karts are kept in decent condition and the track is quite demanding for a hire track. You can check out theire offering here http://www.gokarts.com.au/

Best to ring the contact numbers on the web site to ensure you'll be able to get some track time and if you need to book etc.

Have fun

Yes very strict. We went to coffs harbour (in NSW) last christmas and stumbled across Coffs Harbour kart track so decided to have a go for the fun of it. Before you drive they give a short briefing. It went like this:

"The left pedal is the brake, the right pedal is the accellarator, dont push them at the same time. There will be no sliding or we will black flag you, there will be no driving close to one another or we will black flag you, there will be no passing or we will black flag you, there will be no touching the curbs or we will black flag you..."

We seriously thought he was joking but the guy was dead serious. They let us out of the pits a hundred metres apart. My bro waited for me to catch up so we could have a bit of a race. He got black flagged on track after half a lap :( he was allowed to continue on but we were not allowed to drive near each other.

We were the only two on track at the time. I love to see how they would handle 10 karts or more.

Apart from that the track was ok and the karts were 100cc yamahas so you could get some decent speed. I think from memory it was around $50 for 10mins so a lot more expensive than here.

KINGSTON is your nearest one......its between surfers and brisbane but closer to surfers.

I think this was once called THE GO-KART Track once....

btw, my 1st taste of karting in the 80s was at surfers ( possibly Kingston ) and hence I have a fond memory of this area n downunder.....
