While it is true that meeting at the AGM is once a year, it would certainly benefit to have maybe a mid-year social gathering. I have no problems with that and hope Paul will take up the cue and organise something for everyone.
A good time would be the last round of the KKS series in December. That would also open up the discussion about races for 2009.

The first KKS race in 2009 is on 18 January. Perhaps it would be better to get the discussion going earlier.

Maybe we should have the gathering after the second round. That would give some feedback on the series after running one round. A social gathering after that round in November would be good.
Long time ago we use to have what we call social night where we gather for fun, drinks and talk. Maybe we should revive that social evening.

I think the idea of a social gathering is great. At the moment in most cases we only get to talk to other drivers and exchange ideas on race day when everyone is too busy setting up karts and preparing for the next race.
A separate gathering would allow both socialising and exchange of ideas about race formats to occur without all the race pressure.
Lets get it moving.

I would speak to the Club to see if we can have a gathering on the saturday before round 2. I think it will be great to have everyone coming and talk about karting in the future.
I will inform everyone through this forum.
