The dropped-round system has been approved for use in certain Rotax Challenges by Rotax ;). And is also used in the Rotax Max Euro Challenge or at least was a year or two ago if I'm not mistaken.

To Ryan104, apology accepted and also wish to apologise if hard words were said. As Mikko explained, the choice of words and the way it is being expressed that implied some other intentions. I always have wanted to make karting a force in Malaysia. That's why I have spent a vast amount of my own money to promote, organise and develop karting here. As I said before, I am all for the KKS series running the way which you guys have suggested. As Mike rightly put it, when you dont attend meetings to voice what you want, how can the club know. Let's have an open dialogue day with the club so that we can plan for 2009.

RMC rounds will remain at 5. This is to conform with the worldwide running of the event. Euro Max is fixed at 4 rounds and all count towards the WF. Likewise we do the same for AMC. What we can do would be to organise separate races to cater for other makes like in the KKS series.

The whole idea is to have race meetings at least once a month. That way the racing teams have some income, drivers get to improve their skill, more chances to get together.

Magnanimus post James. Well Done!

However,we have not even started the 2008 karting season for the KKS races. Maybe, we can talk about that first and use it as a platform/model for 2009.

Of course, this proposed meeting can also be used for discussion on RMC 2009 and maybe even Yamaha and how it can all work together for 2009

Actually in Euro Max even this year it is four rounds with your worst pre-final and final dropped from the results:

Euro Max Regulations wrote:10.2 Each driver must (drop) his/her worst pr e-final and worst final result of the overall championship. It is not mandatory to take part in all 4 (four) race events to be classified in the final classification of the series, the drop result rule also apply for not attended events.

10.3 In case a pre-final or final is cancelled because of « Force Majeure » no points will be given. Therefore this race cannot be classified as a worst result.

10.4 Any exclusion from the event by scrutinizing or Juridical Action, no points are given, the pre - final or the final are not allowed for deduction.

There are some National RMC series' which have also adopted dropped-rounds. Finland for example last year had I think 8 rounds with your 2 worst weekends dropped from the championship. Rotax only requires a minimum of 5 rounds to be run :D. Up to the distributor to decide ;).

Mikko, I am aware of the rules and how some countries are doing it. For the present, I will stick to 5 rounds unless you can pull in a sponsor that will cover all the cost of 6 rounds.

I think having 5 rounds RMC and doing the KKS championship of another 3 rounds, one 4 hours endurance race, one zone International Open race with a class for KF would suffice, dont you think?

That's what is on the drawing board of races for 2009. The zone International race will be at Ulu Yam new circuit with factory teams invited.

Alex - thanks and I heard Mr Leong will join us too!!! and I also heard his prize and format of racing!

In any case - I am actively promoting the DD2 amongst my friends and they have expressed interest. James - I need to arrange a test day with you, for a few of these prospective buyers.....Sept ok?
Why have 300hp when you cannot handle a kart's 30hp?

Jules - let me know when you want the test day and we can use my kart - otherwise James has to set up a new one (unless you want to get people to try the RM1). Sept should be fine - as long as we're back from Indonesia.
