I feel SG lack a proper kart track. Proper kart tracks, like those in malaysia, australia, the UK. There has been development at Tuas, but its very minimal. And as i can see from the time schedules at their website, they dedicate alot of time to motorcycles. I think the group of karting enthusiasts in SG isn't big enough, hence we won't see larger developments for the karting arena. Even Kart Racing Association of Singapore has trouble finding a permanent ground for club meetings, yet alone deciding to hold a national race.
And perhaps karting should be marketed in a different way. Kartingedge promotes karting at a grassroot level, with the arrive and drive package. I'm very happy to see this. This will improve motorsports recognition, but when will they settle down and say, " Hey, i want to feel the sheer brute speed of the 100cc or the Super ROk or the 125 TaG engines?"
There are many factors to this, and money is one big factor unfortunately. I also see SMSA's website hardly dedicating any section to karting, which shows the little significance of it.

With such little backing, it will be a very slow pace as SG karting community trys to take off.
haha. just my 2cents. any views?
