I am still learning..

I want to know if for eg, the homologation of a kart chassis ends in 2011, does it means that the kart cannot be used for anymore competitions like AKOC or RMC? and that we must have a new chassis to take part?

eg. is the CRG Black Star chassis homologation from 2006-2011.

In RMC Malaysia there has never been a problem with running an out-of-homologation kart.

If you check the regulations:
Quote:
Rotax Max – Senior Masters
(a) Chassis
Chassis must be CIK homologated or sanctioned by the authorised Rotax Distributor.
Maximum diameter of chassis tubing 32.0 mm, round tubing only. Rear axle maximum diameter: 50mm. Only 1 chassis allowed per driver.

So if the Rotax distributor agrees that the chassis can be raced then it is ok. There have been a few out of homologation and even non-homologated chassis that have raced in RMC Malaysia and Asia events.

As long as the chassis is in good condition it should be no problem. Brakes especially.
