First of all, congrats to all winners and esp for our Senior champion James Lee, whose pace in the finals impressed many. Well, he is a Malaysian mah - so Malaysia BOLEH!

Mikko must have the worse luck the weekend but at least he finished well in the finals! ( senior )

Tho my races in DD2 class is not worth reporting due to my lack of pace and inability to give anyone a run for his money - I would like to thank....

1) James for his invaluable assistance on the kart lease....
2) Mikko for his help in arranging almost everything including mechanics and that rear axle, battery....and even some driving pointers.
3) John King for his pointers on gearing, shift location and shift technique - DD2 driving style in general

Maybe I am getting old but I do enjoy the comradrie of the fellow drivers ( young and old ), familiar faces of the mechanics and mingling with the many drivers' families, supporters and officials - which I managed to do even when I am racing.

Other than sore fingers ( from shifting ), a sore neck ( no race fitness ) - I coped ok.....and came home with a small trophy...

yes, the Sodi RM1 is no easy drive and I need plenty practise to get the carburation sorted out!

Thanks to all again esp officials & marshals for a safe racing weekend for all.
Why have 300hp when you cannot handle a kart's 30hp?

My pleasure Jules - it might have been the only semi useful thing I did all weekend.

For those people I didn't see during the RMC 3 weekend, maybe I should explain my unusual lack of effort in the DD2 and complete no show in the masters. I have a really severe fever (which ended up lasting 5 weeks) and on the sunday of the finals, my temperature was 41.5 degrees. So, I did the absolute minimum necessary to get championship points. I really didn't like doing it that way - I believe it's disrespectful to the spectators and other drivers to pull out of races but I really had no choice - I was way too weak to drive in any way competitively.

Anyway, I'm fit again now and so see you all at RMC 4 on 19th July.

Glad to know you've recovered, you looked really sick at Round 3 and we were worried your extraordinary effort to turn up and race would have lasting consequences.

Time to show the younger ones a thing or two!

Thanks Alex - I'll be trying. I've struggled with the DD2 so far this year but practicing hard now and I think I'm slowly getting the hang of it :-)

Er...Naza from My-Kart?

Anyhow, the DD2 is different than the senior.....and the RM1 Sodi, heavy and stiff
