KL Helmet shops

Postby jxision » Mon Apr 28, 2008 5:47 pm

Hi,

are there any shops in KL that sells Arai SK-5??
How much is it?

And if I buy in Malaysia, can I bring in back to Singapore? or I need to pay in order to do so?

THanks.

I have stock of Arai SK5. Please let me know your size and perhaps you can take it from us. We have limited number of helmets.

I do not actually stock a lot of Arai helmets as you can understand different people have different head size. I bring in the common SK5 with head size 56-57, 57-58 which is actually medium.

The best way to find out your head size is to take a tape and measure around your forehead. The size will be the size of your helmet. The helmet must fit properly on your head.

Once you can give me a head size and the model you want like SK5 or GP5 W, or S, then I can order and bring them in. The prices will be reasonable as I do not make money out of helmets but more as a service to make sure you have proper helmets for the race.

Please let me know what size and type you want.

No. Measuring will get you in the ballpark but not necessarily the correct size. Additionally some helmets just don't fit some heads very well. Try before you buy.

One question, actually can just purchase in any motorbike store right? Should we be too particular on helmet brand? Does it make any significant difference?

No, the helmets we use must be certified for Motorsports.

Yeah I do notice there's a difference between certain helmets. I suppose those used in motorsports cover the mouth as well, revleaing just the eyes. Are these types better than the regular bike helmets we see? But where can we purchase these?
Sorry, I have no idea about helmets considering the fact I've never ridden a bike and no license as well.

Yes actually you can but if you want to use it for recreational purposes for example you're sick with the smell of rental helmets at track or you want to look a little bit good than your friends :) . If you are serious about racing, then get a CIK or FIA certified helmets. Yes it is much more expensive than you'll get in motorbike store but trust me its worth it  . Its much more safer since its for racing purposes and you'll look cool in it ;) . OMP so far in my opinion the cheapest of them all and all the way to the big names such as Arai, Bell, Simpson etc. Don't be too particular about the brand though, as long it fits your head perfectly(every helmet is different imo) and you're comfortable with the helmet(visibility, not giving headaches). Hope it helps :D
