The Mychron 4 with the Gold Ebox, and rear wheel speed sensor is the way to go. There are devices in the ebox to measure g force, which coupled with the speed sonsor, will produce a track map. Once on your laptop to can easily play through any given lap, in real time and see what your actual rpm and speed was at any given point on the track.

For a kart without front brakes, I'd prefer a front wheel speed sensor ;).
