I believe the Pro+ is more similar to the Astro than the Pro. With regards to data aquisition, the Pro+ uses the same download pen and software as the Astro. The Pro uses a different download pen and cannot use the more advanced software.

True I think I was thinking of an earlier version released around 2002 or so... it might've been "Pro Plus" rather than Pro+.... it had exactly the same connections and had no lights and the download cable was the same, it was a direct replacement to the original Pro. I hadn't realised there was a different kind of "+" version as well.

A lot of shortcomings for a data acquisition program still imo. Definitely not my 1st choice.

Hi,

no I'm not from alfano, but I'm from belgium (where alfano is) and I like to support belgian companies!
I'have a Astro LV and have had contact with alfano, they are really willing to adapt the software and listen to recommendations.
This is why I asked the question.
I can submit them some improvement, but users feedback is verry important!

so let's get started

Hi JP.
I used Alfano for many years, but with number of AIM features and cheaper, I'm supporting AIM.

which BTW have 2 new products:

eBox Extreme
eBox Extreme are external expansion modules that let you further expand the already great potentialities of your MyChron4.
Data Hub
Data Hub is the new CAN connection multiplier that works as an interface between MyChron4 and its peripheral equipments.

I understand this, and also respect it,
but if you think of some interesting features AIM software has and Afano not, you can always tell me!
I'll try to submit them so alfano users get more for their money!

thanks

jp, pls use this forum/topic to update us on Afano side. cuz i seldom go to the site.

I think afano needs to put more firmware/software updates with bug fix and new features.

look at AIM, every once in a while a new firmware is available. most time is bug fix or Improved functions. at times an additional feature.

example: Decreased battery consumption (2 mA)
that kind of lil thing make me happy :D

Jp,

My feedback as a 5 year ALFANO PRO user...

1) needs to have a OFF button to prolong battery life
2) USB for download pen
3) Better water resistance for dash unit
4) Less software glitches.....I had actually very few ( less 5 times ) but it should be zero.

The Alfano Pro Software was very basic although with only laptime, rpm and temp - there so much u can do. Can be more graphical friendly.....

Basically, I rate the Alfano as a very good product, when compared to others like AIM, UNI PRO esp when it comes in ONE single unit for the ASTRO and PRO+ models.

I think price wise, it good too altho cheaper is always best.

Cheers.
