Race wear in KL?

Postby DaveT » Thu Mar 27, 2008 10:55 am

Morning all.

I'm looking to buy some race wear to begin my karting career. Can anyone recommend a place to buy suits, shoes, and gloves in KL? I've already got a lovely new Bell helmet courtesy of Mr Nassi.

Thanks.

Dave Turner.

Try the Sparco shop in Batu Caves, they supply everything you need

But be careful with their suits. Last time I was there they were either expired or about to expire, so they were selling them cheaply. Great for practice but they won't pass scrutineering for race meetings. Just ask the staff, they are pretty helpful.

You can also try Rosedi Autosport at Subang. I bought most of my stuff there..

Lucky for Sparco because the scrutineers have never once checked any of my suits, boots gloves and sometimes helmet in all the years i have been racing here in malaysia

Hmmm...Ryan was hassled at the last race because his suit was Level 1, even though it expires in 2011.

And the AKOC scrute will not let an out of date suit pass, so it depends on where you are racing.

Gloves and shoes for karting don't have homologations - so scrutineers should only check that they're in good condition really.

Has anyone been to 911 Zentrum / Rosedi lately? What's their stock like for karting suits?

All,

Thanks for the recommendations. I'll be going to Sparco and Rosedi for some retail therapy this weekend.

Dave.
