Neck Braces

Postby David Goldman » Mon Mar 24, 2008 11:06 am

Just something that ran across my mind, but when i see pictures of the world races, none of the drivers are wearing neck braces. Does anybody know why? Can it benefit you in any way possible? Personally, i'd rather be a tenth slower, and not have a broken neck if it made you faster in any way. Heres what I mean.

There's no evidence that it actually stops neck injury. However, it does stop collar bone injuries from when you have your helmet smash into your collar bone on impact. Plus its more comfortable to not wear them and it gives you better movement.

Thanks, but the only question i have is does having more movement make you faster, or just more comfortable?

How would it make you faster?

Comfort. I prefer not wearing one.

well i guess.. if you were moving up into cars i'd think it'd be better to get used to one earlier on. I only know that how comfortable you are affects your driving concentration. so if you can use it then use it.
