Kartlift - anyone here uses them?

Postby Jules » Thu Mar 20, 2008 1:34 pm

Welll, this is something which is NOT NEW but originated from the USA a few years back....

Not cheap but the idea of not relying someone to lift/lower ur kart seems a good idea but then again not many drivers are true DIY...and without help in the house.

Just wanted to know if anyone used them and if they are of any good? reviews anyone?

see it on www.kartlift.com

If you have any questions on how it works and whatnot, just ask. My dad is the owner of KartLift.

I had one a while ago, and it worked very well, exactly how its supposed to, it only broke because my dad wasnt being very smart with it, i forget what exactly happened but it wasnt because of the lift. Theyre expensive, but theyre very nice, i recommend them.

I actually had the old version of it, it was still the electric one, just the older model of it. Now they updated it and the problem that caused mine to break has been fixed. Again, please try it, you'll find you have a better day at the racetrack not breaking your back to lift up a kart.

David & TJ,

The sports of karting this end of the world is still a richman's sports.....and couple with the cheaper labour, drivers dun necessary lift their own karts, let alone work on it.

I guess if the price level is reduced further......u may get buyers but at present, its not saleable......to the mechanics who run the drivers or even some hobbist ( & less rich ) karters....like me. Your target should be also Australia & NZ with this economy model...since the karters there exceed 5 thousand and are mostly DIY karters.

TJ, tell ur dad he needs to get local fabricator in SE Asia to bring the prices down to at least USD 300 or LESS to make it a viable for the folks here.

Other karters in the region - what say u? Is my target pricing affordable?

Well, just a business proposition for TJ.....

$300 USD would be pretty impossible to achieve. The electric acuator alone is $150 USD. There are also manual versions of the KartLift where you roll the back bumper up to the hooks of the stand when its down and pull the back of the stand up towards you to lift the kart. Its not as simple as pressing a button like on the Electric model, but its the best manual one man stand. Visit the website and check it out. Its priced lower as well. The Electric KartLift isn't designed as "the common man's stand", I guess. It is more for people who NEED it because of heavy karts, like David. People who race alone or have tuners/parents with bad backs really can't race without the KartLift. For them, its well worth the money. I think my dad would be really interested in getting international dealers though.

Thank you for the feedback.

TJ,

Sorry but I should be clearer. The USD300 is for the MANUAL version! do re-consider.....
