Ooh cool I'll update the calendar thread to reflect the tentative dates.

If it does happen I'll have to find myself an engine.

As far as I know the championship is for the World Finals in South Grada so they better finish the races by end Sept....

I hope they don't use non cik approved tyres this year, like last year.

i don't see the logic behind that.

I think it will be non CIK tyres.....why?

Lower COST to karters....at least this is how I see it.

MRFs are CIK-homologated. How much do they cost?

MRF brought in by KKS exclusively and for their own races.

Wonder if these are available to other organisers......u go figure, Mikko.

I don't know I haven't personally tried to import MRFs. Have others contacted MRF? I don't see why they would refuse an order. If it's truly because they want lower cost for karters and KKS has exclusive rights to MRF tyres then they could buy them from KKS and sell them at RM0 profit. I'd also rather pay RM100-200 extra for tyres than have them ruin my race weekends because there are bad batches in there. Also - since they found one tyre manufacturer that was cheap why not stick to it? What was the point in using a different brand/make every single race weekend? The ROK championship last year was the worst organized championship I've ever raced in.

I have to agree somewhat on your last statement.

Well, Mikko - do try and see if KKS will sell you a MRF set and please tell them you want to use it for another championship.

I am really keen to see if they will sell you.

Yes, MRF may want to sell you more but perhaps contractually the word EXCLUSIVE has to be observed.

Naturally I also dun deny the fact that some organisers also want to make a buck on the tyres too.....and hence dun want to be depended on another local source who can then monopolise the supply and control the pricing.

Sigh, the karting community is so small but yet everyone wants to tussle over it...

Mikko,

I am fed-up of asking too....I will just wait till they make up their minds and see if that fits my personal schedule.

Its not blaming anyone but sometimes I dun know who to believe anymore..... :(

Why dont Jules try the Rotax series. At least the dates are consistent. The only change we had is round 4 which we had to move forward because Sepang rented out the track on the 18 August.

If you do not have a kart and engine, contact Ray Kong for a rental.
