Here is a google earth file with all the Malaysia track placemarks: DOWNLOAD.

Thanks! Moved the coordinates into the first post. Anyone know the status of the Sunway track? I know the orignal one was gone a long time ago - is the tiny one (~200m) still there or have they gotten rid of that too? :?:

Great you found it :) Yeah I had a look at KB now that I remembered how to get from the city to the track to find it but you're right it looks like it's in the low-res area.

Good question and my answer is I have no idea. I've never actually been to the track but people that have driven there said it's nice.

Not sure if it's lack of AAM love or just the track owner not being interested in having events there?

For example with Miri there was no lack of effort from the Rotax organisers to get the race there but the Miri guys weren't really interested so getting track homologation etc. done grounded to a halt.

I suspect the TMKC track is hidden under the clouds. Remember the hill? it's Southwest of Jelawat.

Miri track is government owned and have not interested to spend any more $$ to get it homologated. It was up to the Sarawak karting club. im told, too many politics games involved. too bad.. :(

Yeah just found it - massive cloud can't see the track at all!

Shame they don't want to spend a tad more for the homologation procedure. :?

Rumours have it that Shah Alam has lost its permit for allowing "illegal" motorcycle races. Elite has also lost its permit - so Malaysia has only 3 homologated tracks now - Sepang, Langkawi and Kota Bharu.

Welcome Alex! Nice to see you here. :D

I've heard a bunch of rumours too but don't know which ones are actually the reason - maybe it's a combination of a lot of things. :?:

Use to sneak into extreme park to peek at the 200m track with the hope of also getting a pleasant surprise in the form of a new 1000m track. Well, no such surprise but the 200m track with only two hairpins is still there. With the big amount of construction currently going on, it may not be a surprise if that track is laid to rest soon.
