i used to train with rentals/fun karters on the track at the same time. tho its a good training for those situation where you have a pileup, overtaking back-markers etc.

in all my 15yrs of karting, i never think fun karters sucks..

Too bad and bad luck......and perhaps they dun know ur kart cos a fortune.

Anyhow, could I ask u to take a step back and analyse what you learnt from this....besides blaming the fun karter? Could you have place ur kart in a better position to avoid the pileup? Where u following to closely? Were you impatient? Last of all, is the track to small and narrow?

I am not pointing the fault at you but just wanting to let you analyse what you could do in future to avoid this....

Btw, one of our drivers.....wrote off a brand new Tony Kart....after he tangled with a fun karter at the sweeper!

I've had it happen too. Where a fun karter in a Rotax turned into me on the straight and bent my axle. Can't really get too mad at them though since they are learning. Real karters have raced so much that they have heightened reflexes on the track and know the limits of their karts very well. But noobies aren't used to the speed, closing rate, and don't know the limits of their kart. Guess the only solution is to be extra careful or not go on the track when the fun karters are.

On practice days I always take a break when rental karts go out on track. Most tracks here aren't that busy with rentals so it's not a problem.

Really kart track operators should make sure that rental karts+race karts aren't allowed on the track at the same time, as is done at some tracks from time to time.

Also 60cc karts with Senior karts shouldn't be on the track at the same time. The speed differential is just too big. 85cc karts seem to haul ass on the straights(and corners), so not a problem being on the track with them.

The main problem is when there are completely new drivers in fast karts. If I notice that there are newbies on the track in fast karts I let them have some time on the track on their own, and be really careful when getting close to them if on the track at the same time.

I was up in China 2 weeks ago. And this is how they ran

1) Fun 80cc karts
2) Fun 100cc Karts
3) Private Karts.

Each of this are run seperately for 10 mins each. Including the Private Karts. That is how they avoid accidents.

In Asutralia...even private karts are run in their own respective classes for practise! The feel is very race like - ie, we all have time slots and wait at the dummy grid!

here, anything goes - so it takes a lot of self restraint......patience.

When there are too many fun karters...I just pull in or dun go out. If there a few, I would but with caution. The reason to go out also decides if I want risk playing with this ppl as well......

Safe karting all of you.

Even though ive not drove any kart in my "LIVE...i tink i should agree with u guyz...
they should have a time period between the beginner and the intermediate..lastly would be the pro..

this will reduce the safety on the tracks...

Yeah, in China, in Macau and in Hong Kong too.
But to be honest, this can only lower the risk of accident happens.
Cause sometimes it happens between private racing kart in different classes too, Yamaha vs ROK vs Rotax max vs ICA Reed.

The driver's attention is the most important when he/she is on the track!!

still it is up to individual discipline n skills.. accidents do happen (expect for the dumb girl mention)
even if u group up the pro together.. sometimes there might also be accidents
there are fun karters out there who try to prevent even minor accident.. (like me)
