Guys,

Unless ur kart on a track which is dedicated for private karts plus controls the class which goes out at what time slot.....you just gotta be careful when driving.

Why? Kart track earn revenue too when renting out karts..... so you wun ever be able to stop driving amongst them unless the operator is not commercially driven - which is UNLIKELY.

Drive safely!

No way fun karters can be blamed.. You can't compare their experience with your own.. But that being said it should also be the responsibility of the track owners to brief the fun karters on what to do in certain situations and whatnot. Some funkarters do tend to be daft but this only applies to a handful and let's just wish they aren't there when we practice.[/list]

I think it is more of individual discipline on track. If you do see them on track while you're driving as well, monitor their movement. Do not overtake should you feel that the beginer drive recklessly. Find a good oportunity to overtake when you are confident.

In track or on road, i guess no people would want accident to happen. So i think can't blame them. Always remember, you were once a beginer also.

Another point also, if you choose to track with the newbies then you gotta accept the fact of risking yourself getting into accident with them.

1) Fun 80cc karts
2) Fun 100cc Karts
3) Private Karts.

Each of this are run seperately for 10 mins each. Including the Private Karts. That is how they avoid accidents.

By the way, where did U visited in China?? U went Hong Kong too??
I drive CRG in China too..

I was up in Shen Zhen for a business meeting with the Track Owner. And I was in Hong Kong too. Which Part of China are you in?

Yeah owner-drivers will almost always have a more powerful kart... which means wait for the straight to overtake to be safe.

Although some of what has been said about fun karters is true (not much experience, all in the same family, seperate classes for the rentals maybe) I think that you have to start somewhere. Having your axle bent truely sucks, for many reasons, but I too have been in the same boat, I was in my race kart, and i passed maybe 5 karts on 1 straight, but by the end i was about to pass a sixth, and it seems that they never look to see if they are about to turn in on somebody, because i was way inside of this karter, and that person just turned in on me, and almost flipped me over. They do need to start somewhere, but if you know that you are not in competing level, you should be cautious for other drivers who are, because those drivers are cautious of you.

I am proud to say this but i was a fun karter before i bought my own kart..and i NEVER forget my roots ever since..

i remembered how i looked up to those guys who have their own karts..wishing i was one of them..trying my best to chat with them, trying to belong..out of 10,perhaps there WAS only 1 tht was kinda snobbish and not entertain funkarters like me..

Once i had an encounter with a fun kart who braked too soon in front of me which caused my kart to hit him, spin n landed hard in the grassy patch..well,after i recovered,i went back to the pit, stomp around looking for that guy..and when i found him,i apologised and asked him how he is..because i bet u he'd be shaken more than i am..it's my own fault for not anticipating his driving..for someone who owns his/her own kart,it's very un professional if we hit someone..we should be more skilled than tht eh..hence the word 'accident'

ps: your axle broke dude..??err..how fast WAS this lady going and dont u have a guard in the rear...?duh..

Even if you have a guard in back, if that person hits you too hard, your axle will bend like you are going around a sharp turn, except it will bend too fast making it bend too far, and stay bent. Usually the fun karts have fairly stiff axles, so the axles rarely bend. To hit you that hard though, like rock said you would have to have a lot of speed.javascript:emoticon(':)')

Guys,

With your additional power comes responsibility.....just because u drive a powerful kart dun mean you are a real driver and should be given way. ( in fact, you should give them way...as u can easily overtake them the next straight!)

We were all newbies once, so very likely we all started from fun karting too - so be kind.

When driving with fun karters, caution is indeed needed and I also use them for my training on passing set-up. Know your track, recognise where the danger spots are for you & these fun karters....and drive with some reservation at these spots.

I think you be ok if you observe the above.....

There is a reason for not driving slowly with an racing engine. It is not build to drive slowly. Driving slowly will stall the engine on the track. It happened to me before after 2.5 laps. The plug got coated with carbon and firing stopped.

Also, there are too many fun-karters not observing the racing line. They drive in the middle of the track and sway around like a sunday drive on the great ocean road. This is dangerous and accident prone.

The best rule of thumb is always gave way to faster and louder machine coming from behind.

Ya the engines are not made to be driven slowly, but what has been said is true, you should make room for them, because yes they are amateurs and everyone starts out as an amateur. Remember when you were just starting out? I think at one point we all used to be 3 or 4 seconds slower than the leader every lap at one point. Fun-karters have brains, its just that they are not used to going so fast so often if they hear you coming than theyll panic and not know what to do. Make sure that they have time to know you are there also. If you try passing them right at the end of the straight they might not realize your there and turn in, which is what happened to me. If your kart engine is powerful, im sure all of us have the patience to wait until a straight with room and time to make an ample pass. But if your kart isnt fast enough to do that, than just give them a straightaway worth of space and then go race speed until you catch up. Most of the fun-karters don't have much experience, so you can't really blame them for their mistakes.
