Question: I (being a staunch proponent of Malaysian products) looked up the rosedi kart's chassis homologation number and it reads 116/CH/08. I cross-reffed it to the website and it came back to Sterlin kart. Now,
a)does that mean that he license built it, and that's why it read so?
b)Obviously 116 is the homo. designation, CH is chassis and 08 is the expiry date. what happens after that? are they still allowed to race or would you be sent packing if you brought one to say...the rotax max challenge malaysia?
c)has anyone ever tried a sterlin kart, and how does it compare to say...a swis hutless magic? the price is about the same(14k), so locally made does not equal to cheap in this instance, so performance wise, how do the collections of steel tubing compare to each other.

Have you checked with Rosedi if the kart is still made in Malaysia? I guess it would be a licensed job if they are made here. :?

You should be able to race it in any South East Asian Rotax Challenge without problems even in say 2010.... they won't tell you to go home, if you will be competitve at all on an '08 homologation chassis is another question. Remember a 08 homologation means the chassis was probably produced in 2005 or earlier - so it's already a few years old.

I believe there are chassis homologation periods every 3 years, and a homologation is valid for six years.
