Just to make it very clear - the racer I am talking about stopped two years ago. Have not seen him since...

hi rob, good to hear from you! i think all moms have the same thing going in their minds. haha! we've been racing for 3 years already and franco's mom has not seen any of his races! we went all the way to italy last year and while franco was racing, she was hiding and praying in the rest room all the time. the closest she did to watching was last june in macau--she was at the back of the grandstand. anyway, see you in sentul!

After 2 month of many contributions,it looks this subject has quiet down substantially.

Just wanted to check what is now the latest status ??

I would love to see my kid Brendan race next year with a Micro-Max engine.

We leave everything absolut standard on his 85cc Comer as only with skills and not with cheats the kids learn what racing is all about.

It's encouraging to see many new Cadet drivers in Malaysia, but I believe it's time to limit the amount of stuff to be tinckered with.

In my opinion,Micro-Max is the right solution.

If I remember correctly the latest decision is that 60cc will be introduced, and Micro-Max will be run alongside the 85cc cadets.

Get in touch with SHAP, James Leong is in Europe for a few days still but Ray Kong and others should be able to sort it. ;)

Yeah sometimes it's odd because it's actually much better for a cadet driver to be in 3-4th position and really having to drive good to be there than it would be to have a superior engine and being easily in front... it causes problems later on because you just don't learn that way.

Rolf - Just saw you comments in the forum. Micro-Max will start from 2008 in the first race of RMC in March. The age group for this class will be 10-12 years. For newcomers to the sport from 7+ to 10 will be required to enter the Comer K60 class. The Comer 85 class will remain as it is with the present drivers unless they opted for the micro max. In time to come all existing Comer 85 will move to Junior Max or to another junior series. That will leave only K60 class for beginners 7+ to 10 and Micro Max from 10 - 12 years. After 12 they move to junior max by changing the radiator and exhaust. Very inexpensive for the transition.

If Brendan falls into the age group for the micro max then he will surely go to that class or he will go to Junior Max depending on the situation. Contact me if you want to have more details.
