Ardigo start to finish. fast pace in this heats for him. 2nd for pre-finals. Bollingtoft looking good, took 2nd from Cesetti on lap 2. WC Davide started from 9th moving up to 6th.

Cant wait for tomorrow. Gary vs Ardigo

Looks like Fore has the pace to be in the top 5, first heat kinda put him back though. Looking "easy" for Catt and Ardigo.

This is interesting from Mary-Ann Horley at Kartlink.com:
Quote:
Not only does the Vortex have better top-end, the Tonykart drivers use their PI data acquisition systems to regulate tyre pressures and temperatures which stops them burning up their tyres as quickly as some others. Everyone is getting a new set tomorrow for the Prefinal and Final.

I wonder if that means they are able to let air out of the tyres during the race? I know there are systems to view pressures in real-time but I didn't know they could regulate the pressures during the race... perhaps they are using pressure relief valves?

Ardigo got the jump on Gary on the start. Fore stopped on lap 2, not his year. Kosmic pair looks good. Calado seem to go backwards. Antonucci not showing his last year form.

I'm sure Mr. Robazzi & Olivier feeling good now. 1st row A-B tonykart driver and 2nd row A-B kosmic drivers. the question now is, can they race each other.. :?:

Just watched the final live on Eurosport (I'm in Holland on business).

Results were:

Ardigo
Catt
Bollingtoftt
Abbasse
Bailly
Varuty
Fore (from 32nd on the grid) - an amazing drive

Ardigo got into the lead at the start but Catt lost a couple of places and by the time he got back to 2nd, Ardigo was about a second ahead and it stayed pretty much like that. But, the two of them murdered the rest - only Fore was on the same pace.

Top six were 2 TonyKart, 2 Kosmic, 2 Sodi.

Before CRG-Asia asks, the CRGs were ummmm - nowhere.

Lap by Lap - Here

I think the star was Fore, staring from 32th and end up in 7th. Who also set the fastest lap of 54.272. nobody did 53s in the finals.
not sure what happen to Arnaud (CRG) he started 5th, lap 1 4th and was 3rd in lap 2. then stop.
Bailly was running 4th till lap 19th Abbasse (sodi) took 4th from him.

Thanks John for the info.. looks like my 3 picks were fairly accurate then. :P It probably was the most predictable world championships ever though.. perhaps Fore winning would've been a surprise - Catt or Ardigo for the win was almost a certainty though.

Fore had a bit of bad luck.. a dnf early in a heat which meant he was starting back in the pre-final and another dnf there meant a difficult task in the final.

btw Victor told me that there's some kind of Karting on at 4am (in 5 hrs) on Eurosport.. apprantly the European championships.

damn my internet connection has been working at a snail's pace the past few days, only just managed to log in.
