That's eerie.
The last flight related driver crash I remember was David Coulthard.

Colin McRae will be remembered as a spectacular driver on and off track ( when he crashes )
The sad bit is his son was part of the 4 who died in the crash and I read there was another boy as well!
May their souls rest in peace!
Lets play our PC/PS2 Colin McRae games in his memory! ( am sure Colin would approve that! )
Why have 300hp when you cannot handle a kart's 30hp?

Colin and Richard Burns both competed once in the Rally of Malaysia in the early 90's. At that time the RoM was on the short-list to become a World Rally Championship event and the 555 Subaru team came to compete and learn about our conditions.
They finished 1st and 2nd and they were both spectacular, although Greg Carr in a Proton 4WD did manage to take a couple of stage wins off them.
Tragically Richard died young from a brain hemorrhage a few years later. And now Colin is gone too.
Incidentally, Possum Bourne, who died from a recce accident in New Zealand also rallied in Malaysia in a Subaru.
An eerie coincidence and a tragic shame that these great drivers are no longer with us.

Talking about that i did recall there's one more ex ROM participant that used to rally with Team Toyota Malaysia. Just can't remember the name.
He's gone to the big rally ss up in the sky too.
Heard he crashed in the States and till today no one knows what really happened.
Do u recall who's that?

Nick van Nugteren (don't know if I spelt that right). He did not rally for UMW Toyota but as a privateer, using a variety of cars.
I heard he was in a Datsun 240Z on that fateful rally in America. Apparently it was on a tricky desert stage where the route suddenly made a sharp turn. Unfortunately it looked like the route went straight on visually. Nick (affectionately called "Nick the Nut") took the straight route and crashed into a ravine at high speed.
