Ok My story -

Qualifying:
Qualifying was on a drying track with everyone on wets, so everyone drove around on the track waiting to put in fast laps towards the end. I was lucky to just get a fast one in to get pole by about 2 tenths.

Heat 1:
The only completely dry run of the weekend - I got a good jump on the start with David Ong in second and after 3 laps I was able to lift off and take it easy and maintain the gap.

Heat 2:

This time again on a drying track with everyone on wets. I had to fight of Masedenal Ali for the first two laps but after that I was again quite quickly able to back off and conserve the tyres.

Pre-Final:
A bit more wet then Heat 2. Masedenal Ali got me on the start as my engine sputtered for a bit. I was able to get him back into turn 9 later in the first lap and then again had a fairly easy drive enjoying having a look at the race for 2nd.

Final:

Track was more properly wet this time.

Ryan got me on the start in the same way as I lost p1 in the pre-final. For about the first 5 laps we were almost dead even on laptimes with Ryan pulling out of slow corners a lot faster so it was difficult for me to have even a chance at an overtaking move. As the track got just a tad more wet I lost a bit more as I was struggling more out of the corners and I was doing everything to find a few tenths from anywhere. I finally figured out some stuff and had to start catching Ryan who was over a second ahead with about 7 laps to go, also Masedenal Ali was closing in right behind so I was in a bit of trouble :D.

Going into the last corner on the 2nd last lap I had caught back up to Ryan and we went side-by-side and touched a bit but Ryan kept ahead - then a lap later I tried again but wasn't able to pull it off so finished a tenth behind. Awesome fight! I'm of course really upset I couldn't win it after being first all weekend but I had lots of fun so it wasn't too bad. I knew the final was going to be tough because I figured I probably wouldn't have the advantage I had in the damp conditions  Congratulations to Ryan on his first win. :!:

The senior final was one of the best races we've had for a while. Ryan and Mikko both drove great races in pretty tricky conditions and were both at 10/10ths on every lap. It was a pleasure to watch :D

The Junior final was good as well. Fei Hoong showed excellent patience and maturity to wait for a good chance to get past Senna and then pulled away very quickly once he got past.

I won't talk about the master's final. Having an engine that doesn't get above 10,000 rpm doesn't give you much chance, even in the rain

Normally, I do take video on both Saturday and Sunday. I have only my son's race i.e. the Junior Heat1 & Heat 2 and part of the pre-final... Didn't even take the Junior final, which I regretted as it was raining. All the senior races were mostly wet except for Heat 1. There's no shelter where the spot I normally take video i.e. near the chicane.

I do have shots taken using a camera which I have mailed to Mikko.

Maybe next the next race...

Yazid's pictures are up in the gallery. It's really only the Swiss Hutless team though so I encourage others at the track that have been taking pictures to send over some of their pictures to put in the kartingasia.com gallery.

No closeup shots of the karts & engines. :(
I'm a technical guy. Even a picture of a cabletie gets me excited. I learn(steal) more with closeup pictures..
