Then people also forget that a track has changed - like monaco or Spa that've been changed a lot and the commentators forget that when comparing laptimes to previous years.

Nice work on the database Mikko. Any review templates to follow? like to start getting some in, but no idea how to put in texts.

No templates or guidelines... it's fairly open because you can comment on the rental karts or on how challenging the track is or what facilities they have for owner karters etc. etc... anything really. :)

btw, Vietnam track look good. any international racing over there?

No idea... just added Cambodia track as well.. looks nice except for the asphalt quality.

The track in Vietnam is basically a rental kart track. Safety aspect is so poor that it will never pass track inspection. One part of the track runs by the side of a brick wall!!! maybe just 6 inches away. There has been talk about a new track being built but so far no action.

For the track in Cambodia, it is a good looking track with a uphill/downhill section. This track is not homologated as yet. I have visited the track and for it to pass track inspection, a lot of work needs to be done especially on the uphill/downhill section. There is little runoff for this section. Running rental karts would be fine but when you have high speed machine, then it is nerve wreaking to say the least. The Club in Cambodia runs an annual kart race right in the smack of the city on public roads. Not sure when will be the next one but since it is a non-sanctioned event, all licence holders are barred from taking part.

As the distributor of Rotax products in Vietnam and Cambodia, I am trying to get a series started there. But I need to get the track homologated first. Again like Miri, everyone is dragging their feet. I will make another effort to get it done early January.

While on the subject of track, Permas track was mentioned in the forum whereby someone asked why no races there. Again this track is not homologated to the specs laid down by CIK. Like most tracks in Malaysia which owners get "non-technical persons" to design it, this inevitablely happens. The track has no proper run off, too dangerous on certain corners etc. To most people, a track is a track and most likely they are not drivers. So they do not understand the safety aspect. Permas track needs to have in place some changes in certain areas and then the track can be homologated. I believe this is now been pursued and maybe?? we may be able to have one round of the RMC there.
