I was pretty impressed. The facilities at Surabaya were pretty good, everyone - organisers and local drivers - was friendy, the races ran quickly after each other. I loved the track although bits of it are a bit scary - the pit entrance in the middle of the main straight isn't ideal.

But, I for one will be back :-)

Have just got back from AKOC round 3 held in Sentul. Let me give you the low down.

1. From drivers taking you to / from the track, hotel staff, race organisers, marhalls etc all people were extremely friendly and nothing ever seemed too much trouble for them. :D

2. The organisation of the event seemed below par with other events. There was no magnetic strip so drivers had no idea how fast / slow they were going on Thursday free practice. Schedules were not made available until Friday afternoon I believe. The booth where we had to collect bibs (for mechanics), transponders etc from was small with lots of people shuffling paperwork so the queue was long at times. Also had a constant barrage of people asking us to pay for this and that without anyone really knowing if it was legitimate or not. With this in mind I think organisers are better off increasing the entrance fees so that you get the whole package when you arrive and that there is no constant having to go back to pay for other things.

3. The event itself was fun. A bit of a carnival atmosphere with everyone having a good time. Racing seemed to be fair and honest. :D

4. Track (according to my son) was great. Mind you he believes every track is great. :D

5. Lots of advertising for kartingasia.com - every kart had the sticker on the front bumper! :D

All in all I think the people make the event and based on this we will be coming back for sure!. :D :D

Had similar issues at the RMC race. I agree that having everything included in the entry fee is best - or if that's not possible all the additional charges should be made very clearly known to the competitors in the regulations before they even register for the event.

Awesome! No wonder there was a bit of a jump in website visitors.

I haven't received any results from the race yet! Who won the Max Indonesia championship? That was going down to the wire with only 3 points between Rama and Ryan.

Btw that's one thing that has to be improved - particularly for the AKOC events. Getting the results is always very very slow, championship standings even slower. Anyone have all the results handy?

Rob did you snap any pictures? Or pick up the results? Any kind of race report on the miniROK (?) category would be cool as well.

Hi Mikko,

Will e-mail you the Mini Rok race report. Sorry but did not take any pics or did not pick up the results. Will do so next time.

Hi Mylucky!,

Glad you had a good time too. You guys especially seemed rushed off your feet! I don't know of one person that did not enjoy themselves. Thanks again for a great weekend.

Cheers
Rob

That'll be great.. Meylucky emailed me the results, they're now in a single pdf file on the main page of KartingAsia.com. :D Looks like some close racing in Mini Rok! Pre-final Liam had 3 karts within a second behind him!
