SQ Racing - karts made in China

Discussion on current events in karting, racewear talk, karting fitness talk and anything else that doesn't fit into the other categories. Also the place for new karters to ask questions about getting started in karting.

The paint isn't a big deal, it just didn't look too impressive at a national show like that. The new Merlin karts' paint is bad too; it chips off pretty easily.

I'm sure the chassis is plenty fast. Reliability is now the key concern.

This guy who sells them also races them and hes had to cut, weld beat and bang on these karts to just get them to stay on the track and there way off pace. So i dont know how long they will last or hold up i mean i dont want to sound like a dick but thy are poorly made and i havent seen no ajustabilty on them they seem to be fixed.

Chassis seems to be going well enough in the states after all it is breaking lap records and continues to win. Im sure if they needed banging, welding etc to stay on track this wouldnt be happening. I will also say its winning in Australia too. I think your quote is a major exageration to say the least. Big Chassis manufacturers DO have something to worry about. People will see they do get ripped off because no chassis is worth the current price. NONE!
In a round about way SQ are doing you all a favour

I dont have an strong opinion of these phenomenon apart from thinking that the influx of cheaper chassis is what the industry needs to draw in new karters. It could very well benefit the Italian kart makers given that the serious competitors and enthusiats would then be looking at the usual brands i.e. CRG, TonyKart, Birel, Intrepid, Arrow for the subsequent upgrades.

Here are some links of the discussions of the foreign manufacturers (Chinese, Indian, Thai, Korean) on another forum.

Hi All,

Do we have any updates on this brand? Here in the Philippines, AKOC organizers have included SQ as a single chassis, single engine race. It is not a sanctioned race though but being done as promotion. I also seen another racer with an SQ chassis with a KT engine race at Formula Yamaha.

Any updated information is appreciated. Thank you.

They know that in some countries you aren't allowed on track if it isn't CIK-homologated. And sooner and later they get hooked onto the sport then eventually they will go out and buy themselves a proper kart. For CIK homologated chassis and world class racing.
