where is Road Rat from? USA?

if so Road Rat karts may have been 1/3 of the price of the SQ, but bringing Road Rat over to Asia might just square the cost to SQ.

Road Rats are made in China and can be shipped directly to any country in the world. We are based in FL and developed the Road Rat karts. They were designed and developed in our FL facility but we have a factory in China that produces them for us.

But...the fundamental question remains...can they only legally race against each other or can they be entered in cik/ikf races? i suppose the engine question can be answered by good old fashioned wedging in...

If you're talking about SQ racing, they will be homologated in the coming months and you will be able to race it in any race. As for the Road rat, i'm unsure about it. But i guess in a way, China products already have a stigma on its perception on quality.

and that stigma is...what? very cheap but very breakable/underperforming/(feel free to add your own adjective)?

Let me quote what i heard about China Karts:

" My China Kart was falling apart as i drove it, parts were falling out and i almost thought it will break apart"

Excat quote from someone that used a china kart before.

Reading comments from US-karters they view Italian karts in a similar manner - replacing lots of bolts for higher quality bits for example.

Yes it's true. If you want quality you must skip China and Italy and buy a French kart. :P

Cool we've got our first Sodi-guy on the forums. :D

I've never actually driven a race-Sodi before, just a few of their rentals. Don't remember seeing one around this part of the world either.

They are usually moving too fast to be seen.

Hi, FWIW I'm not in Asia. I am a Sodi convert from Birel. I found this site from a link to this thread in an eKarting post. I hope its okay to post from the other side of the Pacific.

More than welcome here :)...

Maybe I've just been at the front of the grid a lot and Sodi karts don't hang out on that end much? 8) All kidding aside they're a quality kart :thumbright: but they haven't had a push towards the Asian karting market at all it seems.

I've been on the ekartingnews forums for ages since it wasn't even the ekartingnews forums (was a bulletin board on pete muller's site years ago then moved to ekarting), awesome forums

SQ Racing race-date is getting close btw.. video on their website of them testing it with a 100cc engine.

They competed in their first race - finished 2nd and 10th in a grid of 32. 100cc karts btw.
