Rotax Max Challenge Round 4 - Videos

Postby mym » Tue Aug 14, 2007 8:19 pm

I shot the video with out the stand that I normally used. Forgot to bring it that day. So it's a bit shaky, so I hope its bearable. Like I mentioned only the Juniors and Seniors races were recorded.

There 2 parts for the Junior and also for the Senior Races as Youtube only allows maximum length of 10 min. per video clip to be uploaded. Below are the links.

Thanks a lot for the videos! I know it takes a lot of work to record, edit, and upload the vids. :thumbright:

Aaron that was a nice move in T1 lap 1.

I had no idea Farriz actually went off and hit the tyre barrier.

The fight for the lead early on was cool.

now gotta have a look at how Fei Hoong got past everyone as fast as he did.

No problem guys... My pleasure.

Anyway I was disappointed to find out that I overwritten the recordings that I did for the Junior Heat 2, where Afiq came 2nd and the Senior Heat 2. Someone was watching the recorded races but did not advance the tape and I didn't bother to check.

Round 4

Postby Geoff Green » Fri Aug 17, 2007 4:41 pm

The videos were great - good job.
We (Ross) had a disasterour weekend mostly from the back but still managed to gain another place in Juniors.
I think tyre pressures was our main failure.
What pressures (cold) were you all using for the very wet pre-final (The poor juniors suffered the torrential rain again!) and for the damp track in the final?.
I have some good shots of the Juniors in the rain - will try to upload them to the site.

Geoff in damp/drying conditions I've tried from about 13-18psi cold and I think in there is the sweet spot, at 13ish they did feel like they were maybe falling over a bit too much though. In wet wet conditions more around 18-25psi. Having said that though I've never been on a brand new set of Mojo wets.

The Mojos really aren't a very good wet tyre - they seem to work only when there is a lot of water on track (which is why I get annoyed when we wait for ages to start a race which allows the rain to stop), on a damp track they really don't work. There is a positive side to it though, in that they also don't seem to lose performance if you're on a one year old set for example. :D

Watched Fei Hoong's start - the others made it way too easy for him. :D
