Hi Dennis, I'll see you in Al Ain. I won the Asia Rotax Masters so we'll be competing with each other. I might need some tips from you though - I've mainly run normal Rotaxs so I'm a rookie in the DD2's. I've been practicing in one and it's great fun so looking forward to the world finals.

Greetings! I'm Peter Seah from Penang, Malaysia but am at KL at the moment for studies. Am only 24 years old this year. I love racing and am interested in karting although I haven't been doing it a lot. Just mostly leisure karting with friends and family once in a blue moon lol!

Would like to know more about getting my own kart and also learning to master a kart. :) Looking forward to learning from the masters!

Yes same here, I did not realise there was an introductory thread. Sorry all the same.

Hi I am from Australia, but born in Malaysia. I went to England for my school studies and ended up racing there until moving to Australia in 1981.
I am now based in Manila due to my frequent travelling workwise. I was karting till 2001 where I gave it away and spent most of my time in SEA.
I used to race a ZipKart then Swiss Hutless and finally an Arrow all in the 100cc class.
I am trying to get back into karting and have found so many new classes in the last few years. I will make a conceited effort to visit a race meet over in Malaysia to find out how it is held nowadays and hopefully meet some of the regular racers.

I have read some of the threads in the forum and I must admit Mikko and some of the regulars have really put in some serious effort to keep the karting community well informed with their extensive knowledge.

Well done and keep up the good work.

This is Gary I am one of the old men of karting, I started racing superkarts in Australia in 1974 and after many years retired. On moving to Malaysia I decided to make a return to karting in the Rotax series in the veteran class. This year the class has been deleted so i am competing in the masters which is harder but much more enjoyable with the larger fields, so it is good bye to the trophies but not the enthusiam. Also congratulations Mikko on a great job with this site I think this is a real positive for Karting in Asia.

Hi! I am Dennis from the Philippines and residing in Dubai. I dont have loads of karting experience, just almost 2 years (less than a year prepping and 1 year in novice class) in the late '90s but still cant forget the adrenalin rushes i got at that time. Hoping to get a kart soon and add a few more laps.

A warm welcome to all the new forum members! :D

Nice to see both Tony and Dennis getting back into the action after a break from karting. :).

Dennis you've gotta find out if the kart track at Jebel Ali is still in operation. That's the first track I ever saw karting at. (I was just a few years old so didn't drive)

Tony you're always welcome at race meets in Malaysia. :)

Thanks for the comments on the site - the site is meeting its intended purpose better all the time as more and more karters join the forums and add to the discussions. :D The members are what keep the forums going and also keep me interested in making the site as good as possible.

Site visitors are constantly on a rise - past 30 days for example registered about 35% more visits than the 30 days before that.

I'd try to go and check the place again.
