Hello Karting Asia, I never knew you existed so sorry......... I am 'brakeguru' from the UK. I have been involved in Motorsport for 40 years and like most professional drivers or I should say, ex professional race drivers I started in Karting (in the 1960's) at Buckmore Park England....through single seater up into racing F3 and test driving F1, My last drive was 5 years ago at Brands Hatch and now retired from driving / competition, as my work has taken over competing (I don't have time - sadly). I am a Senior brake material designer with an Asian brake Manufacturer called Frixa and I work purely in motorsport, designing high performance racing materials for brake pads - (15 years). I would love to help anyone free of course, with any brake issues, give advise and I would love to post occaisionally photographs on brake materials, pit falls of new karters using brakes and mainly, showing you how to look after your brakes.......In the UK, I have been on a similar karting website whereby my post has had over 3000 views and I have replied to over 100 members. So please, ask me ANYTHING to do with brakes and please be constructive NOT destructive with your comments.

Thank you for having me here................. brakeguru

Hi Folks,

Matt from Massachusetts, USA. Living in Taiwan for almost 5 years and never drove a kart before I came to Asia.

Grew up fixing and racing old Saabs on dirt, ice, SCCA, ralle and circle track. Also did Nascar stuff in 5000cc stock cars for a while winning some championships here and there.

currently running in the TKOC 125open with an 08 Tony evxx with the old IAME Leopard (with analog 15,000rev limiter black box). Due to size of Taiwan tracks, engine seems to be competitive enough...except for those damn KF-2's.

Happy to join and also love to get some set-up advice

Hello!
I'm from Singapore. Have always been interested in motor sports but I've no idea where to start! (esp in Singapore..)
Fortunately bumped into this place and I think this will be a good place for a start.

I guess next step would be heading down to the track and try out some of the fun kart....well, what's next?
Would love to make friends with enthusiasts sharing the same interest and pls give me some advise / tips and advise to this newbie =)

Cheerio!

We have end of season karts and engines for sale. They are in good conditions and the price will be affordable for newcomers. Drop by to KRS factory at 48, Jalan Industri USJ 1/1, Subang Jaya and see for yourself.
