Prevention tips only ;).

Good fitting seat + Tillett R4 rib protector + a bit of padding on the seat.

Once they've been done in... rest is the best.

Hanging out with funny friend is a good start. Telling jokes seems to help to forget pains..

Hi! the best way of getting your rib better is driving! just force yourself driving! this is race! rest? no way!

 lol, well, im kidding, i got a rib injury during the summer practise, and i rest for 5 days, as the time consuming, i forced myself to drive... and after few stints, things got really bad, the rib was becoming very painful.. but i still forced myself driving on reverse track just to reduce the pain, and finally i couldn't drive back to the pit..and i had to stop driving at all, then bought an air-ticket back home.. luckly enough, there's nothing wrong with the rib-bone. it didnt pain at all about 20 days later,

dude, if got your rib injured, there's no need to drive, just go for the doctor and have a rest until you make sure it's all OK at all!

im thinking of getting a smaller seat and having more fitness training to ensure i won't get injured during the winter practise.

hope there's nothing serious with your rib ! good luck

- just to report on the ribs , its basically time off the kart which really helps (solid one month lay-off).

- when i got back into the kart , a very tight fitting seat ( with foam padding on the sides - esp covering the bolt heads of the seat supports ) helps to keep the ribs happy. Of course , don't forget the rib protector.

- from my experience with this injury , its really caused by "banging" (eg , when a kart bounces sideways during a high-g corner , or rapid changes of side-to-side direction) , which slams your chest into the sides of the seat. If your seat is "loose", that makes it mucho-mucho worse.

cheers.

Hi,
When you enter the karting track, every second you spend there is dangerous, and the game of luck.
You can not avoid the bad happening that come to you...
