Why doesn't SHAP bring in Bridgestone tyres for the RMC instead of MOJO's? judging by the official SHAP website, they also work with bridgestone.. and this will surely be more fun?? :?

Rotax and MOJO have a partnership, every rmc series MUST run mojos

Dass19,

Uncle Jules here.....

In response to ur suggestion - the Rotax organised Max Challenge is a organised series on a international level, where the best of the nations are represented at a world finals. Think of Olympics for Karting and you wun be far from the concept. ( or even World Cup...soccer )

As such, the racing and rules are very regulated and hence there is so much control over engines/carby/exhaust/battery and of course tyres.

At the start, Bridgestone YGK were used and they were quite good and hence this corporation lasted a few good years. MOJOs have been introduced over the last years and I guess this is more commercial than any other reason.

So, if you are racing in the RMC series which will contribute to a finalist towards the World Finals.......YGKs are history.

Perhaps James Leong can shed some light.....

Dass the Mojo isn't a horrible tire so I don't see how a switch would help much. Everyone is on the same thing so nobody gains an advantage + of course next year there should be a new version.

The reason to be running Mojo was already stated... without running the Mojo you can't send drivers to the grand finals.

The only real problem with the tires are the price! How cool would it be if they would manufacture the tires in Thailand/India/etc and sell the tires at half the price while still keeping their profit margin? With only the one tire allowed they can set the price wherever they want though so if they made them India they'd probably just keep the same price but smile all the way to the bank. Of course in countries like Malaysia the price is really high because of import tax. Oh yeah and the tires being manufactured in Europe means that strong euro = more expensive mojos for us.
