Swiss Hutless Asia Pacific is a subsidiary and distributor of world renowned kart manufacturer Swiss Hutless. We carry a range of chassis available for viewing at our showroom.

Our most popular chassis is the Swiss Hutless Magic which is primarily used in the Rotax Max Senior and Junior categories. This chassis set the fastest laptime all weekend this year at the Kota Bharu event in the Rotax Senior category and in the India round of the Asia Max Challenge the Magic claimed the top two positions in the final!

We have a large inventory of spare parts for all our chassis so availability will never be a problem.

If I remember correctly the Toledo is an old chassis that has been replaced by the Toxic now. ;)

What are the difference in between all these chassis? Like Toledo with Magic or Toxic? Or even the difference between the brands like SH, CRG, Tony?

Personally I think that Tony Kart's are the best. They brake very well, and is an extremely balanced kart. However, I haven't driven a Birel or a Swiss Hutless yet, so i still have to see what else is out there. What's everybody's favorite chassis brand? Dont forget to explain why though.

The only 2 Malaysian drivers that has driven all the 3 models of SH karts (Magic, Toledo & Toxic 2) are Afiq (Senior) and Hasif (Junior). Mikko is yet to drive the new TOXIC 2, but I m not sure he can now. Anyway, the boys seats will never fit Mikko. Mikko has driven the magic and also the toledo. He tend to like the Toledo better. Afiq was driving the Toledo that was used by the SH factory team in the 2005 Macau race. That Toledo has gone through so much “researched” by the team during that race from which it form the basis of Toxic I. So the design of Toxic 1 was based from that Toledo. That toledo now is scrap as the chassis has cracked.

Magic uses 32mm tubing all round and Afiq’s said that the Magic has more front grip. Its a fast kart and easy to set-up when there's no grip. You really have to work on the setting to balance the kart especially when the track grip level increases. For seniors, you can easily bog the engine if not properly set-up. Feedback from driver is very important for the mechanic to work on.

As far as Afiq is concern, the Toledo was good at high speed corners. It has more rear end grip. So, you have to work on the entry. You must brake early but you can power early too with this kart. Toledo will work better when grip level increases either the track condition or with gripper tires. A driver must be sensitive enough to feel the chassis in order to get a good balance. By the way, if not mistaken the Toledo has 2 designs i.e. for 100cc and 125cc. Difference in tubing sizes. The Toledo that Afiq used in the Junior Max last year was meant for 100cc.

The best of the 3 chassis that Afiq has driven is the new TOXIC 2 that he used in Kota Bahru. The Toxic is fitted with floating brake disc which allows him to brake later and do smoother trail braking. Tubing is 30/32mm. The front tubing (in-front of the paddles) and rear are 32 mm, while others are 30mm. For Afiq the kart does what he wants as the behavior is very predictable & consistent. He can brake much later, and throttle much earlier. Even over braking won’t do much harm, you can still enter a corner with some bearable understeer . The Toxic has more front grip than the rear. The rear is slightly loose but it’s not difficult to balance. TOXIC 2 has slanting rear bar like Tony while TOXIC 1, the rear is similar to the Toledo, a straight bar. This is one SH Chassis that Afiq & his mechanic don’t have to work hard to find the balance. Comparatively, Afiq said that the TOXIC 2 is much better than the Magic & Toledo overall, just that you have to be more muscular to drive the Toxic 2.

Malaysian tracks offers much lesser grip if we compare against those in Europe or even in Macau. Eventhough SH didn’t do well in Europe but to Afiq, with the level of track grip we have, the new Toxic work’s well. If you were driving Magic and later jump into Toxic 2, you can immediately feel the difference. But I don’t think the data you had for Magic will work with Toxic. But if you have experienced Toledo you & your mechanic would be able to adapt much faster to the new Toxic 2.

haha, all these talk on new chassis, and i'm still on a swisshutless Vinto. My Vinto is 2nd hand, and i've been using it for some time now. Can anyone tell me more about the characteristics of the Vinto chassis? I'm running it with a Rotax Max Senior, and its seems to be similar to the Magic chassis with 32mm tubing all round. Are the chassis behaviour alike? Please correct me if i'm wrong.
