I would guess Alonso will win this year championship and bring back No.1 car number back to Renault.

You guys agree :?:

Alan Permane of Renault already said the same thing in last week Renault podcast. Alonso will win and bring back no.1

I have doubts about alonso going back to renault. Even if he does go back to renault, the question of whether renault can provide a championship winning car for him is in question

I doubt Flavio would put up the money to re-hire Fernando. If he did, that'd be great, because then McLaren could hire Scott Speed.

Yeah, but he did re-hire Giancarlo back then. Importantly Renault boss wants Alonso.

But yesterday Alonso manager was quote saying Alonso will finish his 3 years term at Mclaren and not talking to any team. Unless they know Ron wants alonso out..

Bob McKenzie, the formula one correspondent for British newspaper Daily Express, claims that the French team's boss Flavio Briatore "has asked his main sponsor ING for a few more millions" to help bring back the Spaniard following an unhappy single season at McLaren.

Dutch sponsor ING's current Renault deal is reputedly worth about (US) $30 million a year.

McKenzie asserts that the value of ING's required increase to accommodate Alonso in 2008 could be $10m.

It would be much cheaper for Alonso to have McLaren want him to leave than to tell McLaren he wants to leave and break his contract.

He spilled the beans on the e-mails to the FIA and now Ron and he are not on speaking terms. It now comes down to money and Alonso will cost a lot more if he wins the WDC.

Perhaps an opening for Toyota?

Repercussions of bitting the hands that feed u huh Alonso....
Good about time u have a taste of your own medicine.

I wonder how would he cope with David Coulthard as teammate after Alonso brake tested him in the european GP some time back.

The latest rumours have him going to Ferrari and Felipe to Toyota.

I do not see that happening unless Jean Todt is forced out by Luca.

He may stay. But, Alonso certainly has a free "out" because of the McLaren scandal. If Alonso thinks Ron would rather have someone else, it makes sense for him to act like he will be staying. That way he can probably get "PAID" by Ron to leave.

it all come down to this. I guess..

If Alonso wants out, he have to buy out his contract. believed to be worth at least (US) $20 million.
If Ron wants Alonso out, Ron have to pay the 2 left over salaries, or score a price with Alonso.

I would have bet Alonso protect himself in his contract, that the team cannot demote him to testdriver role. or else Ron would have already pull Alonso out by now.
