Change is not always easy to adapt. I face this at my workplace . ha ha . Yes the reverse grid has both advantages and disadvantages.
On speaking to Rahul , he felt he did not deserve to start on the 8th grid after having worked hard to be in pole. However after some thought he did feel that he could "pretend" his actual grid was 8th and try to work his way up. ( simple psychology I suppose)
Sometimes by just remaining on pole ( maybe by some good chance or even luck ) does not show the drivers capabilities in overtaking and pushing hard enough in desperate times. The reverse grid system allows for this.
However maybe there is another way around this and there could be a 10minute qualifying before race 2. or the reverse grid could be applied to the top 6 drivers only and not 8.
There are many variations and I suppose the organisers have studied the best approach to this.
