Depends on their ages, but for the younger ones I would say Raja Razman is your best bet.

Kart training is a very subjective matter. It all depends on what you are looking for -

1. Are you loking for someone to teach your son how to drive which meant that your sons are of age and have some karting experience or

2. Are you looking for someone who would introduce your sons to karting.

The above 2 items are entirely different. One is that your sons know what karting is all about and the other is that they have no foggy clue. The approach to the above two things is entirely different. Of course it is easier to teach someone who has some knowledge while the other is a hard hand approach. Unless you clarify this issue it is very difficult to recommend someone or a school who can cater for your needs.

Getting someone to teach is very easy but to get someone who knows what he is teaching is another ball game. Most drivers here can teach but what are they teaching and what can they offer. Raja Razman have been teaching quite a number of youngsters and who have made it in the karting circle. Mikko Nassi is another one who can teach but again you have to inform what you are expecting so that the teachers can tailor their course to your needs.

I have two boys, 10 and 14 years old. Both have experiences, whereby the older one has more experience. Both want to become race drivers, F1 drivers actually. That's their dream and I don't want to destroy their dreams. So, I want to give them the opportunity to get some racing experiences. Of course I don't want to waste money, which is very easy the case if you don't know the right people. The question, of course is, can I effort proper training? I have once sent my older son to a track near Sunway Lagoon, but I wasn't very happy with their professionalism there.

In short I want a trainer for them who has the connection to also get them into racing.

Wai Leong of CityKarting... He's managed the likes of Jazeman Jaafar, Zahir Ali and Ryan Haryanto all the way from karting till formula cars.. His experience is amazing...

yes.. wai leong is still training someone at the moment. i do see him sometimes at CK. with his cute little son that always runs around...

Aaron was always trained by his dad....Uncle Richard, another good trainer/tuner/teacher in my opinion.

My personal advise is to get someone who you are comfortable to deal with. Having easy track access is also vital so your training times can be flexible.

Get them into a kart, get them on the track, start meeting people and then form your opinion about who and when to start some formal training.
There are a lot of very capable people around including Aeron, Wai leong, Mikko, Richard and Ray Kong.
My sons are also 12 & 14 - only Ross (14) is really into karts.
We will be at Elite Sunday afternoon - come down and have a few runs in their fun karts. Jules is right - where is Lauder's replacement?!

if you have the time to drop by city karting in shah alam tomorrow, there's always a few juniors your sons' age practicing and training.

they can always have a chat with them and get an idea of wats involved in the training.
