Got back today from a 24hr endurance race in Goa, India.

The race ran from 5pm Saturday to 5pm Sunday.

6 Drivers to a team, I went there from Malaysia with Matthijs Hoitink, Ryan Mumford, Lim Dao Wei, Rohairijaz, and Farriz Fauzy. Weighing in at an average of about 20kg per driver over the minumum weight (of 55kg), we finished the race in third, 4 laps from 2nd, and about 15 from first.

CityKarting team was on the same lap with us up until about the last 2 or 3 hours after which they fell a long way back due to various issues.

More reports and pictures to follow later. Now back to sleep.

Hey Mikko, have you recovered yet? We're dying to read your race report!

What kart did you use and minimum weight was for the driver? So the lighter ones had to carry ballast?

The main thing is that it sounds like you had fun...

The karts were controlled KnK karts picked out of a hat with 4 stroke subaru engines with 8 or 9 hp.

The combined weight for drivers had to be 320kgs if i remember correctly so even the lightest drivers didnt have to worry if as their team mates could compensate. Our team weighed around 460 or something.

Ill add some pics of some of the signs we used for communication throughout the race though ill let mikko write a report as there was really so much going on in the race, it was intense for the whole 24 hours with differing strategies and problems for teams.

Good Pace

(It was amazing how motivating it is when your team is on the wall telling you that your pace is OK or giving thumbs up, as 1H 45 mins goes forever and you really dont know much of the status of the race or how you are going, and the karts didnt have numbers on the back of them so it was hard to see who was who, especially at night)

Image
After a driver pointed at a problem we asked them what was the problem.
First we asked if it was the breaks.

Image
Farriz thought Mikko might have lost his seat :?
(loose seat?)

It was hard to see your fuel at night, though the engines easily ran 2 hours on a full tank.

Probably not the most welcoming sign to see 8)

Final Lap Welcoming Home

Heres a water bottle we used (After we trampled it) for the first session, then we realised we were ok without it. The electrical cable didnt taste that good.

at langkawi now typing on phone so no reports yet. Was a fun event definitely, as was the night after the event for some of us. Others might have been a bit frightened.

Haha yeh final night was awesome.

There were lights on the track, sufficient enough for these karts though plenty of shadows. With a clear visor it was no problem, though it would have been slightly difficult with a tinted.
