A good helmet to get is the Arai SK6 if you want to use it only for karting. But if you want a helmet for car racing also then go for the GP5. Make sure it has SNELL 2005 marking at least. If you are going to get your helmet painted, go to a professional otherwise the inferior paint used will damage your helmet beyond control.

Good luck.

You can consider also the Bell KC3-CMR (up to size 59 only for CMR2007), RS3-K (K2005), K1 SPORT (SA2005), and/ or RS3 SPORT (SA2005). Later this month their 2010-2011 product line will be available with updated Snell 2010 standards.

You can contact your local Bell dealer for more information, including specifications and price.

All the best!

Indonesia has some really high quality painters at good prices as well. The only problem is that sometimes helmets go missing in customs! - so it's only really a viable option if you visit Indonesia often or know someone that does.

There's one in Sunway that paints most of the local drivers' helmets, but the prices are fairly high, but the quality seems ok.

Pak Uchi in Bandung has done a number of helmets for Ryan. Highly recommended. He can be contacted at catartchie@gmail.com Use an international courier and there should not be any problems with delivery.

I don't think he has a website but there are lots of examples of his work around - I know Ryan, Senna SN, Rio Haryanto and Narain Kathikeyan all have their helmets painted by him.

Thanks Alex... Will give him a buzz. BTW, do I get the helmet from him or I courier one to him so?

You need to send your helmet to him. He can design and paint it or just paint it to your design. Best to drop him an e-mail...
