WSK Master Series 2010

WSK Master SeriesThe WSK Master Series 2010 kicked off last weekend at the Siena Karting Circuit in Italy. The Master Series is a 3-round championship that runs from August to October at 3 tracks in Italy running the 60mini, KF2, KF3, and KZ2 (shifters) categories. The first round had several drivers familiar to the South-East-Asian region in the KF2 and Mini 60 categories.

Australian driver Mitchell Gilbert who started his karting career in Malaysia put in a good performance in the KF2 category finishing the final in 5th place, with enough pace to go a few places higher.

The mini 60 category saw a bunch of drivers from Malaysia/Singapore. James Pull, Daim Hishammudin, and Max Fewtrell all made the trip to Italy to take part in the competitive field of 66 drivers! None of the 3 managed to make the final (34 out of the 66 drivers make it to the final stage), but all gained tremendously from the experience. Fewtrell was the closest to to getting into the final having missed out on a possible top 34 placing because of carb problems forcing him to sit out a heat. After the heats the 3 drivers were classified in 45th (Hishammudin), 48th (Fewtrell), and 62nd (Pull). Fewtrell had the best single heat finish with a 14th, while Hishamuddin and Pull both managed a 16th place.
