Gilbert Shines at Margutti Trophy

Gilbert Crosses the Line in 3rd.
Australian driver Mitchell Gilbert (Energy/TM/Vega) took a podium finish after a great performance in the wet at the 21st Andrea Margutti Trophy held at the Parma Karting Circuit last weekend.

Gilbert started the wet pre-final in 13th place and cut his way through to a 5th place finish. In the final Gilbert moved up two more places in the final for a 3rd place finish. Gilbert said that “It’s great to get the season with Energy going so well now especially after a difficult first WSK round.” Gilbert joined the JRP Energy Corse Junior Team this year and feels very confident with the team and believes that there’s a lot more to come. Gilbert started his karting career in Malaysia where he has raced actively for several years.

Danish driver Jacob Norcoft (FA/Vortex/Vega) took the win in commanding style ahead of Stefano Cucco (Birel/Iame/Vega) in 2nd. Indonesian driver Kevin Susilo (DR/Iame/Vega) finished the final in 23rd, while Thai driver Tanart Sathienthirakul (Maddox/Tm/Vega) was 29th in the final with a DNF after finishing the pre-final in 20th.
